The Silos
This past summer when I was in Austin, I went to these silos while I was visiting my brother. I mixed it with my music and liked how it turned out. Let me know if you do or not.

Estes Park Sept 2007
This is a video of our drive through Estes Park and up into the mountains in Colorado at the end of September. You can notice that it was raining when we were at lower elevations, but stopped the higher up we got. At 10,000 ft, the road was blocked off, we parked, and I walked a little ways higher to see if I could see anything else. Needless to say, it was VERY cold and I only had shorts (brought no long pants with me to Colorado) and a short sleeved shirt.

Trip to Boulder, Colorado
Sandy and I went to Boulder to go to a dear friends wedding. On the first day there, we went to Pearl Street Mall and found a fantastic candy store...it had all the candy you could imagine. We also did a little other shopping. As you watch this video, you will see that when we travel, we only buy the essentials!

Dance II
This is the second video I made called Dance, thus Dance II. This is just from some video I took this summer here in NYC at different times around the city. I tried to mix it up a little to make it more interesting. I hope I did that.

Circus Amok II
One of the skits (from the previous post) from Circus Amok - Colony Collapse Disorder. See the queen B give birth!
More video of when I was in Washington Square Park this summer and serendipitously Circus Amok was there. Circus Amok is a New York City based circus-theater company whose mission is to provide free public art addressing contemporary issues of social justice to the people of New York City. This is sort of another video mash up of one of those performances.

Katrina
I meant to put this up two days ago on the second anniversary of hurricane Katrina, but I didnt have it finished. Please watch this. I think that it is important we remember what happened, so that if we ever find ourselves in circumstances where this might happen again, we can prevent it.

Max Roach Tribute
Over 2,000 people gathered at Riverside Church in New York on Friday for the funeral of the legendary drummer, educator and activist Max Roach, who died on August 16 at the age of 83. He was credited with helping to revolutionize the sound of modern jazz and for playing a prominent role in the struggle for black liberation at home and in Africa. The poem in this video is by African American poet Sonia Sanchez who spoke at the funeral.

Nieces
I went back to Texas a couple times this summer where I am always happy to see my nieces. They are really fun girls to be around...some of it is here.

Madison Square Park
I was at the park this past weekend and ran into these huge sculptures of trees made out of some type of silver metal. It was interesting to see these huge metal trees next to the organic trees of the park.

I went to the India day parade here in manhattan this past weekend with a really good friend. I didnt put any music with this video (as I did with the others) since there was music at the parade.

This is more from my recent trip to San Antonio. While I was there, I went down to Hemisphere Plaza to go up into the Tower of the Americas (as can be seen in the post just prior to this one). While I was walking around, I took some video and compiled it here.

Installation
So I have been gone for almost two weeks in San Antonio visiting family. While there I tried to take some video of things I did and people I saw...some of which I will try to put up here. This is an art installation I saw in downtown San Antonio.

The Visit
So a friend came up to NYC to visit Dale and I this summer. Unfortunately I didnt take as much video as I should have (lesson learned!) and the times we were together were only captured in two places...anyway, it was good to see our friend and this is from that time.

2007 National Pastry Competition
So earlier this month I went to Nashville for the the 2007 National Pastry Championship and saw what these sugar experts could do with sugar. I was able to take a little video while I was there, tried to make it into a short. I hope you enjoy!

biodome
Click To Play
So I was away this past weekend for a convention/contest I will put in a different post, however the hotel I stayed at was gigantic...it reminded me of biodome because in addition to all the rooms for the guests, there were a ton of plants, waterfalls, restaurants, etc. I was actually just beginning to get a sense of direction in the place on the last day I was there (3 days)...which was also the case for other people there who you could overhear saying they were lost. Anyway, this is just a bit of video I took while walking around the hotel/resort.

Der Panther
Click To Play
I would never claim to be an authority on the meaning of this poem...as a matter of fact, like most people, it takes a lot of work on my part to glean things from poems... but for me, this poem has universal value. There are things that hold people back in life-self imposed or by others-and this poem uses the panther behind the bars at the zoo (that Rilke saw in Paris) to illustrate this point. The last part of the poem is particularly interesting to me because it suggest that though our innate desires can be stifled, these instincts don’t go away...they are still there...is this hope? Maybe our passions never die...and we are doomed to live behind these bars. I dont know. What does this poem mean to you?

This sort of reminds me of the really old Bollywood films where there is always dancing and singing. I love the ornate outfits and the music (by Latafat Ali Khan) is mesmerizing to me...I hope you enjoy this one.

subway
Click To Play
So this is the first attempt at trying to get something online using some things I got while in the subway. Please forgive the extra background noise that apparently reverberates much more than I expected in the subway. Hopefully I will be able to take care of this in future posts with similar circumstances.
